Learning the English language sounds great too me too!
there will be an offer coming out in October I guarantee it. as to what departments or if it will be across the board is anybodys guess. it will be the 40 plus 10 and 2200 for each year.
$46 per hr waving a flag ,with a pension and benny's sounds like a great job too me..
Any person not doing FIOS is somewhat challenged, and has been put in “the special” group, that’s how you get that certification
What kind of special certification does flag waiving require? I mean, it sounds hard flapping your arm around all day. Not sure if I would call that "the best in Verizon"...
Hey, maybe our local executive board is lazy, but the technicians are absolutely the best in verizon. These men and women put it all on the line each day they might come to work. My buddy does about 800 waves with his flag a day, his shoulder is about to fall off, that’s not being lazy in my book.
@2slo that would be awesome
Maybe the new wireline owner will give your mega EISP handout when the sale closes.
@1yee "Craft is an older term." I can remember back when the company used to respect it's employees and referred to it's skilled workers as Craft. The term itself came with a certain amount of respect.
@2ana Your statement is false. Peasants where agrarian in nature. They did all the farming threshing of wheat carving for livestock etc. Craft people where largely free men practiced a trade blacksmith, millwrights armorers, weapon makers carpenters etc. They tended to belong to guilds that had apprentice programs and tended to keep their skillsets in house and passed on from generations to generation. The guilds where similar to later day unions. Guildsman tended to be wealthier than the standard citizenry but certainly not royalty. One could say they where the original middle class.
If you conpare Verizon to a kingdom, craft would be the peasants.
@1ocd: Craft is an older term for union technicians, for example splicing equipment technician, outside plant technician, switching equipment technician, etc.
what is Craft?....I keep hearing it but which org. it belongs to and what kind of work they do?..thanks...Vz Enterprise here...only 5 years
I believe most craft will stay till 2023 and just make as much as they can in the next 4 years..the only ones I see leaving are the folks close to the age of 60...they will take a package if there is one
All there are, are rumors, until a letter arrives in your mailbox. I'm thinking nothing is going to happen. They don't have enough people to get the work done as it is, what will they do if half the people leave? At least I got a free consultation with a financial planner, so I know where I stand.
Mega, enhanced or regular ISP...something is brewing. Between the financial groups running programs, the past September packages and the “big October announcement” something is going to happen.
Yes. Mine came in the mail today. Great EISP. Check your mailbox.
Agreed. An extra 138k isn't even a years pay. We have almost 4 left on the contract. It would maybe intice me 3 years from now.
An extra $138 thousand ain’t enough to leave , sorry !
When you say “mega EISP”, there is no reason that VZ would not first offer the EISP that is already in the contract. That calls for $10K+$40K+$2200 per year of service capped at 40 years service. The maximum possible payout under that scenario is $138K.
Any rumors you hear about EISPs are just that, rumors. The only time you can believe them is when the Union is notified of the terms and titles and sometimes names involved.
