Ford screwed themselves with the decision to stop making sedans. I see new ones every day. They are everywhere, from Honda, Toyota, Nissan, Hyundai, Kia, BMW, Mercedes. There is a big market for these cars. Ford does not know how to style or design a competitive sedan. Hackett will ruin Ford. I would not buy one. The only choice is a little sports car an SUV or a pick up truck. No thanks.

I agree with 1zbt... if you’re really down on ford or concerned about the stability of your job it would likely give you peace of mind to look for other opportunities. I left with the last round of buyouts and I’m doing well. Others who left are doing well. My son worked for a non automotive company that recently had a round of layoffs and he and others from that company found positions that are better than what they lost. The economy is not like it was in 2008 and 2009. Opportunities exist.

Hmm...yest another person posted PRP is going to be announced in October, with GSR layoffs happening in Feb/March 2020.
So who do we believe exactly -why it is the latest anonymous poster to this thread, of course!
In all seriousness, for anyone below E level, which is likely everyone posting and reading on this site, you can't do anything about it, so why worry? if you have any appreciably amount of time in like I do (20 + years, but was not old enough to qualify for PRP when last offered in 2018), you severance package and assistance about equals out except for the health care to 65.
If you are that down on Ford, you should already be looking to get out, anyway, then. I'm get out when politely asked (PRP) or when shoved (SRD)...but until them business as usual,

Is SRD phase 2 a rumor or something that has been announced? Hopefully Mr. Hackett realizes that you need some employees to design and build vehicles.

Stock down 4%. Hackett is firing up SRD Phase 2 to provide a boost for the stock. For the PRP hopefulls - aint gonna happen again, sorry.

I think some of the worry is that Ford has been singled out, the other auto companies remain at investment grade. In the past this was not the case.

Nothing to see hear, kids, move along.

First off, I have been around Ford long enough to see this happen at least three times, and each time it has not k–led the company. In today's age, a companies debt near or at junk rating does not mean what it used to mean.

Second, do we exactly trust these rating companies, whom rated all the "lair loan" backed securities as Triple A rated when we all know what happened to that mess. So who knows what their rationale is for doing this when Ford and the other autos warned this was coming for over a year...and all of them have plenty of cash to bolster themselves, so why the panic?

@1pmi, you hit the nail on the head. He's a huckster hiding behind high-brow thoughts that amount to nothing more than a popcorn fart. Kinda reminds me of foghorn leghorn.

Are they finally seeing Hackett for the fraud we have seen over nearly 2 years. He is just a con man with a pocket full of word salad buzzwords.
