Thread regarding Xerox Corp. layoffs

HCL F**k Ups

I know of so many things at my core that happened that are just sad and ways employees should not be treated. Between PTO being messed up, going for weeks sometimes months without questions answered regarding benefits and policies, employees who have not been paid for weeks of work and disability. Share your stories here. I think a lot of management is either not aware or checked out to what is actually happening to the employees who have been rebadged. Maybe this will give them some insight.

Ok kids... let's address the term Core...
I am at a Core company. Cores are geocentric ie COTG, Chicago Office Technologies Group is made up of 4 different companies. Conway Office Systems was made up of 6 Companies, now only 5... that is a Core, we use the same programs to do the same job duties but processes differ by company/Core and used to work autonmously...now we get to train our Indian replacements

Regional cores were a term for the 42-45 core companies around the country that made up GIS. Each core ran as an independent company with a certain level of autonomy to make business decisions. If you hit your numbers and made money, nobody bothered you. But, with each core came a core president, a core CFO, a core admin dept, a core service department, etc. There were some overlapping costs that in the original model were more than covered by the fact the "local" company could operate in their local market as a local company, with the buying power of the largest independent dealership in the country - before Xerox bought GIS. Xerox purchased GIS and pretty much left them alone. Hit numbers and make money, and nobody bothers you. This new leadership group has tossed that model out the window, and XBS Cores are waiting to see what the new reality looks like.

I think core means like the core of an apple or piece of fruit. Sorry, had to say it. Yes, if someone could explain exactly what they mean by cores that would help me as well. I know I dislike my current position to its "core". :)

What is unbelievable that HCL can’t onboard rebadged employees as this is not their first rodeo, unbelievable!!! It speaks volumes for their capabilities as a whole!

"Core" applies to former GIS / now XBS org. It is made up of multiple formerly semi-autonomous geographic-centric units referred to as "cores". I'm not XBS, anyone feel free to correct me if needed.

Had a customer order waste container and staples. Not only was order never processed, they never mentioned charge on staples. In india they call the waste container the 'waste basket'. Had several UM10 for "replace waste basket"

Um techs don't do that
