It is always on a Tuesday at Schwab. Statistically speaking, Tuesday is the best day.
I feel they may have wanted to do the laying off next week but were caught completely off guard when the news was leaked to the Wall Street Journal. The pay period ends Monday. I would not be surprised if the axes start flying Friday. Monday at the latest.
Severance is in the Schweb. 2 months paid then 2 weeks for every year up to x# of weeks total.
