Thread regarding Charles Schwab Corp. layoffs

Panic on the Floor

I work on the front line, client facing support. We were ALL notified in an email towards the end of the regular shift. Most the floor immediately stood up and looked for managers to ask questions. Managers looked for directors. Directors came on the floor and huddled with line managers, they had no heads up. Managers had nothing to tell staff. What an awful way to be made aware, nothing but panic on everyones faces.

Dice? That is so 90s. Try Indeed next time. It is always a great time to be in IT/Software Engineering. Except when you have deadlines.

A friend works at Schwab in IT but because of the way layoff announcement was made he decided to post his resume on a couple of job sites. He already has an interview from his Dice posting. Its a great time to be an experienced IT person I guess?

Managers told us weeks ago. It has been torture to work since then.
