Thread regarding Sam's Club layoffs

I am a cos, and I just got coached for credit. I do everything within my powers to get credit and yet I got coached.

I've watched a lot of new cos over the years. Many make the mistake of wanting to be "like" their cashiers/desk associates, especially if the cos was a cashier or desk associate before their promotion. Here's the thing - friends don't get friends coached. If these people really liked you, they wouldn't put your job in jeopardy. And that is what they are doing by not asking for plus or credit.

Seriously it isn't hard to get credit. Especially with 45 off 45. It pays for new memberships and they never have to use the credit card again. And half the time it pays for most of their groceries. It isn't even a hard sell.

This is a legal issue; do you have a set goal as outlined by your job description as agreed when you signed your terms of employment? If so, yes. you can be held accountable. Are you doing your job? Asking every member every time? You will have to answer truthfully to yourself. If you are doing your job, every member every time, then you def should OpenDoor. Be prepared for them to pull video, those cameras do not lie. Who sat in on the coaching? If the CM was in the room, open door to Ethics . CM is the first line on the Open Door process, they cannot sit in on Coachings. God grant me the serenity to accept the things I cannot change, change the things that I can and the wisdom to know the difference.

I’ve got a Sam’s credit card. It has a 26% interest-rate and my credit score is 830. That’s probably why people don’t want a credit card from Sam’s Club. The interest-rate is high even if you have excellent credit.

As a COS you are now essentially a non exempt Manager. If you just got coach for under preforming credits while you are in charge. YOU NEED TO STEP UP and hold your Cashiers accountable set quotas for them... if they under preform you CAN COACH THEM

When they coach you for BS you are on the way out the door. They were suddenly doing the same thing to me after years of service so I found a real job and quit.

Are you the only COS not getting credits? If so, then you need to step it up. If you ARE NOT then you need to start asking Management questions and demand that every COS be held accountable for "under-performance." Credits aren't easy on the front end though. That's a fact. You have to do more than ask - you have to "educate the Member on what's best for them" as far as opening a line of credit, and you need to focus the Member's attention on the $45 or $35 off of the day's purchase and also focus their attention on Gas Cash Back. Good Luck, and if you're being unfairly targeted then don't lay down for it.
