Thread regarding Xerox Corp. layoffs

Webster exit by year end???

I had not heard that before and just read it in a comment below about Q2 financial results. Can anyone elaborate on that? Thanks

I agree about 208. I walked through there and nothing going on. I see more JLL folks riding around in carts than Xerox people. The people I do see are standing around talking and doing nothing.

Nothing is built in 208 staffed but little work. IGen is dead. Nice company !

There are 48 job postings for Xerox Webster on Taleo.

There are 15 job postings for Xerox Raleigh on Taleo.

I don't think Webster is going anywhere soon. There is a lot of upfront cost with onboarding new hires, that they wouldn't bother with if there was a short life for Webster.

More likely certain job functions are moving to Raleigh, which I don't understand as I would expect salaries to be no cheaper (maybe more) in Raleigh than in the Rochester region.

2onb - imagine if you were still here and your job was posted in Raleigh. That seems to be happening.

Cool. I googled “Xerox Taleo Raleigh” and see my exact job I left last year (in Webster) posted there. Funny.

Is it possible to have XDX handle a relo and resulting massive staff reduction on top of wipro debacle, data center move, etc and still have any hope of supporting the business? Sounds like a recipe for success!

When can we expect changes to Supply Chain /Webster?

1wvi- that’s Google “Xerox Taleo Raleigh”, not Rochester...

The “story” is XRX cannot attract talent in Webster. The reality is all jobs posted - google Xerox Taleo Rochester - are already performed by bldg 111 personnel, or are roles attempting to monetize on data we have. The latter being an utter lack of understanding of what it means to go digital. Reminds me of Steve B talking about Netflix-a company purely digital content based. Comparison to Xerox is foolish.

Z-lan, can we quote you on that?

Hearing there is a serious exit from that particular building. Btw, who is managing engineering group now?

It’s not just IT, toner and a portion of manufacturing may be safe for now, bats are off in all other functions. JohnV & SteveB goal is to reduce headcount in Webster from 3k+ to 1K. The fact that are even considering moving any Webster engineering & IT personal to Raleigh is due to the lack of response and inability to attract non Xerox people

Us in 207 aren't going anywhere. In fact our work will ramp up quickly with this new partnership.

What if you work in engineering in 207?

If you aren’t doing toner or actual manufacturing, your job will be moving out of Webster to one of the “nerve centers”. Some support things can’t go away like building maint but overall that’s what is happening.
