426 Job Openings on Ford external career site

Wow - imagine that. I guess the 1500 people fired didn't have enough experience.

Embarrassing.

Shocking.

Yeah. Didn’t management say that as a part of SRD displaced employees could be moved into open positions in other areas of the company. That was the primary reason for the temporary hiring freeze, or so we were told. I don’t think that happened.

They just want cheaper employees. I'm SURE that will help their mounting quality problems.

People are correct - just sitting at work, minding my own business, when an IT recruiter calls, as me if I am interesting in a portfolio management job at, you guessed it, FORD. Just WOW....so now they are going after agency/contractors to fill management roles? What was the point of letting all those people go?

Yup every position in our area that was “eliminated” is now being back filled and new positions are also being created. The people eliminated were told their position was no longer needed as part of Smart ReDesign. Turns out that was not true. All people in our area eliminated had a pension but had not hit major milestones yet. Oddly enough all but one were the people doing the lions share of the work.
What a joke. First we cannot recruit people with the skills needed. Second most of the people left behind never bothered to gain the skills needed and are complaining that those eliminated did not train them. Team meetings are so bad that feel I need to bring pacifiers and baby spoons to meetings.
Now we are in the process of pricing training costs, vastly more expensive than the salaries of those eliminated. Another boondoggle as most people left behind have neither the aptitude or attitude required to become competent. The few who are competent will leave after getting trained. Our clueless LL5 wanted to ask the eliminated to come back on contract and train the remaining staff. Sure that will happen.
All the while the LL5 is painting sunshine and roses to the LL4.
Remind me again what we saved? How about next time we eliminate all the inept and lazy? How about we start living our Truths?

Ford needs you and talent employees, not old and lazy employees.

Hatchet is there to do the dirty work so Hinrichs can take over. We've seen this behavior over and over.

Company is so full of sh– it is not even a joke anymore. Most of the LL4/5 positions where back filled with recent promoted LL6 & LL5s. A large percentage were white female. They promoted people into positions, at the same time demoting people in those positions (Red Circle) to work along side that person. The criteria for the outside positions is all prior Intern or FCG, so they can assure low experience (low salary] applicants apply. Hackett and company is just driving the bus in a circle without any meaningful new product or enhanced revenue stream to improve the margins. Just one big smoke screen.....

Think the recalls are bad now? Wait until all these cheap inexperienced employees settle in. Ford will be kicking itself for trading pension payouts for warranty costs.
