Thread regarding Xerox Corp. layoffs

Being rebadged, a reward or a punishment?

In one sense we got to keep our jobs and our paycheck, in another we all know this is going to be a short ride. The ones that get to stay are not in a better situation, given that the fear of layoffs is still present to the same degree. Who do you think is realistically in a less worse position, the re-badgers or the folks that remained at Xerox.

Where is your dream job making a 30% pay increase with a bonus? Were you in Webster? In what field? There are a few of us that were let go that are still looking for jobs.

Neither. But closer to reward if you weigh the pros and cons between the two. HCL has live 401k matching, not only if you're employed December 31st. Generous bonus offerings to those that fit the script. And an idea of your longevity.

Being rebadged is a notice period, which affords you the resource of time to apply for other positions external, during an unprecedented time of economic growth. I resigned last week and I landed my dream job with a 30% pay increase & bonus structure in a fantastic company that is growing. Zerox leadership is just rearranging the chairs on the titanic. Get out while you have this grace period & don’t be a victim of someone else’s decisions - make your own!

A lot of the rebadged folks get a bonus (unless HCL weasels out of them) when they do get let go. So at least there’s that. Some of the ones that didn’t get rebadged see the writing on the wall and would have taken a bonus to get fired.
