Thread regarding Xerox Corp. layoffs

What's the status of the Gil Hatch Center? Bldg. 209?

Are customer events still being held there? Are there still multiple events daily, 4-5 days/week? Is there talk about shutting it down/moving it to Raleigh or somewhere else that they consider more exciting than Webster?
Thanks!

  • aav, engineering is going over there to FIX the machines or take parts to support irate customers that are down. I have been there and done that. Many times the GHC machines where not operational for weeks or fixed minutes before "the dog and pony show" took place.... and these where supposed to be the best quality machines.

And the piles of prints they hand out to prospects are hand sorted to only show the best of the best prints. They do NOT represent the average IQ the machines produce. (Again, been there done that - and ashamed I took part in it).

Wish Gil was still with us... His enthusiasm, love of Xerox and support for the workers is sorely missed. May he Rest In Peace .

Since when did speculation count as being a fact?

Engineering is in Webster and engineers are constantly going over to Gil Hatch to work on machines so moving the Gil Hatch Center to a place like NYC does not make sense.

Gil Hatch will move elsewhere as part of the Webster exit strategy and as hinted to by John V on more than a few occasions. Raleigh is where mgmt thinks they can source IT talent easier and cheaper. Gil Hatch will move to a major metropolitan area such as NYC, Chicago, etc. moving it to Raleigh would indicate just how clueless upper mgmt is.
