Charlie in his bunker of self deception

“It’s not me; it’s them. It’s not me, it’s them.”

His sneering but composed demeanor in the Town Hall betrayed a man so wedded to his own views that he is oblivious to his own deep deficiencies.

Great companies are comprised of GREAT people. Sadly, this sentiment it lost on the upper management at BNYM. Like any great ship, you remove all of the components that make it sea-worthy and you're left with nothing but a vessel adrift at sea with a mutinous crew.

  • 1rps sure seems like a sociopath with ALL THOSE CAPS. Aspirations to be a CEO proves it!

Ethics matter. Credible studies are now emerging that suggest many CEOs often have traits associated with sociopathy.

I don't hate on CEOs with sociopathic tendencies; I just think they shouldn't be in charge of anything important – and especially things where their known lack of ethics damages lives, companies, and society at large.

I am generally not a basher of CEOs. I went to business school, and graduate school, was an early superstar and secretly aspired to be a CEO myself. Funny, I know. We are a dime a dozen. And Charlie is special.

My point is: I don’t bash Charlie because he is a CEO making lots of $$$. Hey, that is me, in my dreams.

I BASH CHARLIE BECAUSE HE IS IN A POSITION TO FIX THINGS, BUT HE DOES NOT.

If a CEO does not realize that his employees are his best hope, he and his people are lost. Earnings are important, we aspiring CEOs all know that. But how you get there MATTERS.

First, do no harm. (Yes, I wanted to be a doctor, too.)

Hey CHARLIE: time to wake up and see that the WAY you achieve success MATTERS.

Either way, he makes out like a bandit. He can retire tomorrow and be as happy as a pig in sh*t.

He’s used to gambling with the public’s money. That’s how they roll on Wall Street — where profit is privatized, but losses are socialized.
