Consistent word is 2800 people - supposedly global. I know I have a meeting with my manager. I am prepared. I’ve known for several weeks -and essentially ignored the whole time. That the worst thing -being ignored even though it’s a business decision and not performance related. This is not the culture of dignity it used to be.

I was LRed a year ago after 11 years of successful service...no rationale behind the decision, was not happy to leave. But have discovered a new, less stressing work environment with so much less pressure. There is a GREAT life after Cisco!

Cisco and dignity is an oxymoron, rake in the profits and cut off the people that brought you there. I know people that have been with the company for 10 years and they have never seen a poisonous environment like this.

How many folks are impacted total ? 5k or more ?
@10jQWGFf-bws Packages may vary, so I am reluctant to say much in detail, but I terminate officially Sept 20 with full everything until then, then I get 2 months of salary and COBRA as a package (they have to do this because they choose to not give the regulatory required WARNing in the US). Any future vesting stock options are then accelerated between Sept 20 and Nov 20. It's not bad at all, and in this economy as a senior enginer, I should be able to land another position in under a week (if I want to, who knows).
Confirmed in Herndon, VA. We should start a support group and help each other get thru this and network. What an amazing year with sales!

Welcome all to the gig economy. My 1:1 is in 45 minutes. After 30 years in engineering I will probably retire now, or maybe take up technical writing. No concerns of any kind either way. I had a good run at Cisco, no regrets, have to say it was an accident I was here at all (via acquisition). Remember we are all now and will for a long time remain at the cutting edge of what humanity is trying to accomplish. Civilization is entering a narrow space between Scylla and Charybdis.
