I think it's a 4% reduction for the USA only - add 2 or 3 percent for the worldwide ops, you are easily looking at a 6%-7% global headcount loss when they are all done cutting.

Folks, the numbers vary wildly simply because they are based on rumors from different sources. Cisco has a long history of stealth LRs combined with ongoing (purposefully created) voluntary attrition/turnover. Please do keep that in mind when looking at any LR numbers at their face value. Some higher estimates may combine official numbers with involuntary-to-voluntary rate projections over the course of the aftermath of the LR...

You will know by reading the fine print of earnings report when you look to see how many $ have been set aside for restructuring. It seems to figure at about $120000 per employee (VP's and above skew the averages) from what I have seen in the past since 2007. So you will know soon enough.
I keep seeing a–holes here claiming 2000 , 4000 and now this id–t who has no idea what he is talking about saying 4%. I bet he doesnt even know of one group hit today or there location. I have talked to 6 people across the US. So far only one person knows about folks impacted in RTP. One mo–n was claiming 3k in Richardson earlier and obviously he doesnt know who small Richardson is. Its far less then 3k.
