If that's the case, how much in advance are these scheduled? Should I still worry if I have nothing on my calendar?

Why use up your PTO time when u can just sit around till Sept 16th doing nothing and still get paid?
I had no 1:1 and was off on PTO. Got a text from my boss that he wanted to talk to me and I immediately knew. HR does not want them to call you on your PTO, but did anyone care? I called the boss, and of course, I was told the usual "I have bad news for you..." I cut him off, said no need to feed me with the BS and went on to enjoy my PTO.
Define "great" because the last few were kind of garbage.

I heard in a 1:1 first thing when I got in this morning. I think I'm getting a pretty good severance as well, but bittersweet after 16 years with this company

Yes. They are trying to keep this on the hush as to not alarm the masses.
It is usually 1:1, but not exclusively.
