Thread regarding Lowe's Cos. layoffs

Assembly going 3rd party also.

After nearly 14 years of working and busting my behind for the store I worked at, I was laid off along with the FSA. I kind of figured it was coming when they brought in a third party assembler. Plus with all the "improvements" they are doing, I really truly believe that a merger, acquisition or sale is coming and that is why Carvin' Marvin is doing this.

You are going to see customer complaints go higher and service go lower than it is now. So Marvin will cut more people. Where will it end?

I am a retiree now but my thoughts and prayers goes out to those who are still there. If you work for Lowe's anywhere in the stores, get yourself ready because your time will come. You can take that to the bank.

I was an FSA until 10:30 yesterday. I wasn't even given the Cashier option and I was laid-off immediately. Forcing a resignation is somehow even worse because I can visit the Unemployment Office and see what retraining benefits I may qualify for as well as unemployment insurance compensation. Might be fun training as a machinist or what-ever. Just wrong on so many levels forcing into no-win situations. I talked with the Internet Fulfilment Coordinator as I was cleaning out my locker and she didn't know what she was going to do. We were both in shock. Shame on Marvelous Marvin.

Yes I work at the pick up desk and that will be no longer as of Aug 16. I was given no option to move to a different dept. I was told I will be a cashier and if I don't want to be then I needed to give my Resignation.

So there's literally 3 large Kobalt cabinets that are supposed to be delivered Friday morning sitting in what used to be my assembly bay. I doubt they can get 3rd party in tomorrow to do them, so what poor person is going to be asked to make it happen?? (The order calls for 4 but the associate oversold). This is the lack of planning that angers so many people. We the assemblers are suddenly gone and it's on others to pick up our slack while the store transitions. I feel horrible for my receiving team, they deserve so much better than what they are getting
