Everyone hates coming to work with this gloomy cloud over our heads every single day. Asking if anybody heard anything. Just furlough us and lose the experience and talent. BNSF IS WHERE TO GO!!

Amtrak has RARELY furloughed TE&Y employee’s, and even if they did we have Nationwide seniority so you’ll always have a job somewhere in America. The people who talk all the “Amtrak has been losing money” c-ap can’t get that we are not owned by stockholders, therefore we don’t have those worry’s lol We’re government owned, equivalent to the public transit system in your city that ALSO loses money every year, thinking the gvment would shut those down is just as laughable. Used to work for UP for 12yrs, got furloughed twice and told them to kick rocks last time they called and glad I did, never heard the word furlough since (except from my old UP colleagues) AMTRAK OR METRA IS THE PLACE TO COME TO
Amtrak is a relic of the past and has consistently lost money every year since 1971. I doubt it hangs around much longer without joining in on the cut party. No doubt tax payers that never use it are getting tired of subsidizing it.
End of the day, all the Railroads are going PSR. Jumped ship myself and when to Amtrak. Well worth it.
METRA or AMTRAK would be the best option, several UPRR employees have done so already. Also, the BRC is another option since the long range goal is to get 30 years of RRT.
It does add a lot of stress with the constant threat of furlough everyday
Stress leave
Yeah go ahead and start your seniority over at BNSF....
I doubt it’s that much better. Still a class one railroad. If you’re going to leave then get out of the industry entirely you’ll be glad you did.
Go to BNSF then..duh
or just quit?
