Thread regarding Sam's Club layoffs

How much money does your club lose because of club pick up?

We lose a couple hundred week due to passing out gift cards because a member is not given all their items, or orders aren't done, or items put in cooler, when it should be in the freezer? Plus a lot of other preventable mistakes.

No one keeps track officially, not really, but you would think management would notice the profit loss. Cash office use to catch this kind of stuff .

We're getting it right only because the only changes at our club is the title were all doing the same thing!!

We lose money every day due to new associates doing club pickups. Management either doesn't care or their hands are tied.

The stupid stuff could be avoided: freezer/cooler differences. I don't see how anyone with a brain wouldn't know that cheese and lettuce doesn't belong in a freezer, but hey, maybe they live in a different world.

I, for one, am tired of dealing with angry members when their order isn't right. We give away gift cards like Halloween candy.

I wish they would hire club pick up associates again. Most of our Merchandisers are newbies and don't know anything about the whole process from start to finish. There is no training, except to point and click. It's a disaster here.

Praise for the stores who are getting it right. We're just not one of them.

Between claims, the cash office, and audits, food losses and the reasons items were lost was monitored. I never said the cash office went on the floor.

We have the same problem. The Merchandisers are just taught to point and click. Because of what has been happening with this we now have signs on the freezer and coolers door indicating which is which. And yes the signs are on the floor walk ins as well. Also do not get me started on the orders for meat.

The sad part is prior to the switch to the good ole block schedule. Two more associates were job offered to the old club pick up job code. One complained and complained about not having anything to do, he wanted to be the closing CPU. The other we had to play a game of Where in the world is Carmen San Diego? Three places this associate could be guaranteed to be found was the break room, any smoking area and standing around in an aisle with no cart and no paperwork.

I will say at my club from 7- 11 it’s club pick up is making a lot more money then people coming in. They do need a better system getting the order faster and making sure they get the freezer and cooler items. Also make sure it’s paid for.

The only problem we have is associates (cashiers) will try and help with orders . They will get the order and the member will tell them I paid online then they give them the paperwork and member will walk out the door. You tell a manager and they just look at you with that dumb look.

Don't worry about the gift cards and thawed items - the real issue are the pallets going out of receiving that aren't paid for.
Our pull order associates refuse to load anything larger than a shopping cart out of their area.
The backroom always has at least 10 pull orders taking up valuable space - usually with no members names or any indication whether it has been paid for or not.
Last week we lost a pallet of Gatorade because it was added on to an order at the last minute.

Ours does great they are point on. And hell no your cash office did not use to catch the mistakes. People sitting in a locked office all day didnt go down to the sales floor to help do anything.

Our fax-pull (pickup) orders are a joke. Especially when it comes to frozen/dairy items. Day after day, I find bags of chicken, shrimp, burgers, and other frozen items, sitting in a cart in the dairy cooler, with a single bag of lettuce in the same cart.
I've also seen carts in the freezers, filled with a couple cases of chicken wings, and a few bags of romaine on top of 10 dozen eggs and sour cream.
I've brought this up to management, and they just blow it off.

We have to be losing thousands every month due to the stupidity and laziness of our "experienced" click-n-pull/fax-n-pull, fk'd-n-BULL people.

They get away with it, because they are the azzkisserz that can get away with anything... and get promoted for it.

Our club pick-up is on point so we don't have to give out gift cards...

Well I think the whole point is, giving out that kind of money is nothing in comparison to the people the can fire if they get less members in the club and more people picking up.
