Thread regarding Macy's Inc. layoffs

Technology officer comment

I was told that the chief technology officer told the Lorain contractors not to listen to anyone that has been there more then 5 years....they are corrupted. Interesting comment to make. Reinforces the general opinion here that it will be all contractors here eventually.

I agree with the previous poster 100%. You can tell from his meetings that he's keen on disrupting the most successful areas of the business, and not an a good and innovative way. I've also never seen a CTO who leaves everyone feeling LESS motivated after an all hands meeting, and a few of my co-workers actually grumble in anger by the time he's finished. I have nothing against Home Depot, but they've never been the arbiters of the best in eCommerce, so I hope we don't go backwards

It’s known. He has directed a 70 -30 contractor to FTE ratio. Not to mention he’s collecting all his cronies from Home Depot and moving them into Macy’s. The company will lose core knowledge and it will impact business, he’ll get a short term pass because of the cost savings and then by the time it’s too late BOOM point of no return. He’ll be fired or encouraged to leave but it will be too late.
