@10nNTwTO-3sip, Can you share more? If those impacted wanted to initiate a lawsuit, would you be willing to go public?

I asked to be on the lay-off list around 2 years back as I feared I was starting to loose my edge after being acquired by Cisco and I needed to get back to shipping new products and the best way to do that again was to leave.

Like many companies Cisco has a lot of bright people but the discipline to invest and follow through is not present and even worse the lack of energy to take risks and try new ideas was a absolute enthusiasm k–ler. It took me 2 months to flush the bad habits I picked up at Cisco and start innovating again. I think if you can introspect this is a blessing in disguise and you will be happier couple of months from now.

I feel this is all talk, none of you guys have the guts to come together and do something against what Cisco is doing, there is already precedent with age related lay-off getting sued at IBM? Why not Cisco?

@3sip: Those words are considered to be discriminatory, as IBM is about to learn the hard way. Cisco leadership would be wise to pay attention.

Before I left the company (within the past 4 years) I heard a C level executive say, in an all-hands, "we're actively working to 'age-down' the company" ... I still can't believe how those words would not be considered discriminatory.

Fresher =,‘Early in Career’. I have several VP’s that say things like how they want to balance the company profile more towards an “early in career” demographic and that their org is too “weighty” and “senior”. They are skating very close to being sued.

"Many fresher n interns are rejecting offers from Cisco." OP is Indian, they are the ones who use the term "fresher" when referring to a new grad.
