Thread regarding Cisco Systems Inc. layoffs

If team member was laid off, can one volunteer to take their place for the severance package.

If one was about to leave cisco or thinking about leaving and there was an immediat team member who was impacted, could this employee talk to manager or director to do a swap after the fact. Assuming of course team member who was laid off wanted to remain.

I've done it before. I left my first round @ Cisco by volunteering for the LR and saved someone else's job. But that wasn't at headquarters and was actual decent, caring management.

I've heard the best way not get LR'd is to request o be LR'd, it's foolproof.

No. But if you know in advance, you can volunteer to be "that LR person".

it's 45 days now - not 60 to find a new job

Nope, you can't swap LR spots. The one intended to be LR'ed must go or find another role within 2 months period.
