Thread regarding Mondelez International Inc. layoffs

Are locked EDI orders at Wal Mart truly the beginning of the end?

I've been feeling uneasy for some time now, but it's always been in the back of my mind and many times I could just write my thoughts off as a bit of over thinking.
I feel like this EDI/Wal Mart change is a big deal.
What do you all think?
Will we ever write full Wal Mart orders again?
Or is it permanent and just the sign that DSD is going to be done?

As GS promised, “jobs were safe in 2019”, hope that tells you something! Read between the lines. Nestle didn’t have the signs in their faces everyday like we do! It’s been obvious for years now so there should be no element of surprise for anyone.....unless they continue to walk around with blinders on!! Way too many signs to start to point out!!!

By the time you guys go warehouse ( if and when) sounds like alot of you will need therapy lol, we went AR ordering at publix 3-4 yrs ago, and walmart grs(their system) ordering 2-3 yrs ago, before we got the warehouse news dumped on us(nestle). So dont let it consume you, do get that nobody wants to lose their job, could be a long time before it happens to you, have learned all the speculation and uneducated guesses are usually way off.

Jus sayin....people won’t find out anything officially until company announces dsd ending. Unofficially, the last 5 years, and all the red flags and transition was plenty of evidence enough for me and my accounts. Our motto was, and still is,”not if, but when”! Looks like the when is coming into focus!!

It’s just truly astonishing that people still question what is going on, with locked EDI orders, etc! Can people really be that stupid? No other word to describe! Embarrassing!! The process has been moving for years. It’s unbelievable to think that people don’t realize that dsd is ending! Wow! Wake up people!

The person who wrote to quit putting blame elsewhere....what are you talking about? I put no blame on anyone, I merely asked the question about a step that has been taken and if the step that has been taken means something big, or if it means nothing. Wal Mart is only mentioned because, that's the account where the step has occurred, and it's almost everyone's biggest account in their territory.
I drew no conclusions, nor did I place blame. Re read what was written.

This is NOT the beginning of the end. Is how that first sentence should read.

No this is. It the "beginning" of the end. The beginning was years ago. We are on the last leg of DSD.
And you Walmart managers, your Manager or anyone else you come into contact with doesn't "know" anymore than you do. Only thing we know are the facts staring us right in the face and all the changes that have. Even happening.

I would not be surprised to see us out of Walmart by January and complete exit by April 1 at very latest. We may not make it that far

WM personnel doesn’t know and they certainly owe you NO explanation! You are one of many manufactures reps that visits their store! They probably have no idea about the transition!! Thank your own company for keeping you in the dark, quit trying to put blame elsewhere! Your paycheck comes from Mondelez, not WM!

I’d say it’s on its way out. Their should of been some communication from home office sent down to stores indicating this transition. But I guess that’s WM for ya. Not communicating anything. I can talk to 5 different people and they all seem clueless. Managers yesterday approached me about filling the features and had no idea about the store having to order for them. They said “we were wondering what was going on. It’s not like you to let them get in those conditions”. No it’s not. But if that’s

What I don’t understand and maybe somebody can help me understand. So when WM does an inventory, there on hands SHOULD be a lot closer than what they have been. And with our orders being audited more times than not. With majority of them getting 3x deliveries, how the heck are they able to get these on hands so jacked up?
