Thread regarding Bank of New York Mellon Corp. layoffs

Prepare!

Time to clear out personal belongings, if you haven’t already.

Invited to an impromptu meeting? Remember to take your personal belongings with you, because you might not be able to go back to your desk before being escorted out the door.

Above all, keep your cool. BNY is not worth even more trouble. No point slamming any doors on your way out. You never know who might be able to assist you in the aftermath.

Don't forfeit the SUB money, you earned it. Take the new job and keep the SUB payments coming. Let them try to prove it and take the money back.

I was laid off on May 20 after 14 years, now 3 months later I just got hired at CVS Health. I forfeited 5 months of sub pay and unemployment but it seemed like tainted money..

My desk and locker have been cleared out for weeks. I made it easy on my manager and actually just resigned on my own since I start a new job at the end of the month. They said two weeks notice is the given norm but I said “f**k that” and just gave them one week and that’s already so much extra courtesy already since they lay you off without a moment’s notice and don’t even let you get your stuff. Good luck to everyone this month. Don’t be upset; the light at the end of the tunnel will get brighter once you walk out the door.
