First let's list the facts, then let's see if any of us can cite a reason other than DSD ending for each fact.
(Anyone feel free to add to my list)
- Wal Mart and Kroger now have locked EDI orders.
- Shelf facings are down after latest big chain resets.
- Results of 2018 DSD cost benefit analysis never announced ( a poor result would NEVER be announced as we would all assume the worst)
- Unusually high number of supply side out of stocks and allocations in the last year or so
- Recent implementation of outside applications like Easy Shift and Wal Mart Volt
I'll try a few other explanations for these other than DSD being phased out, even if I'm not sure I buy them.
- Kroger and Wal Mart want control over what is in their back rooms, EDI gives them that
- Competition/more store items resulted in Mondelez losing facings
- Information announced, but we never heard it at ground level
- Issues with the bakers not having enough lines to run
- Outside applications are better at collecting the data we need and giving information accounts like Wal Mart want.
