You all must complete the pulse survey. If you don't, then management think you are happy with where you are at.
The pulse used to be promising back on the day. Today pulse seems to be something created to echo the leadership voice when they speak. They took away anonymity so we expecting us to tell them what they doing wrong and make sure our information about.
Don't waste your time on Pulse and don't get yourself in trouble. Not worth it.

Pulse is ineffective. I had managers hold meetings and threaten employees saying if anyone said anything bad or provided bad feedback That he would find out about it. The net effect was people either did not partipate or provided positive feedback where it was undeserved.
Managers get rewarded for good pulse feedback, but I never saw a single manager use the pulse for self improvement. It was more of a method to target people for dismissal who had the gumption to speak truthfully. It is easier to say that all the GSRs are malcontents than to fix the culture.
The best option is to not participate.
In real terms “Pulse” is not a yearly event, but a daily one. If a manager or supervisor needs a survey to understand his/her people he is not worthy of the position. However everybody just needs to be open and stop hiding behind the survey. It most groups you can easily see the outliers in the work group. The problem is no one will admit there position and will tell the manager one thing, then document something else on the survey because of trust. The current culture renders the process totally useless....
The polo shirts aside, can anyone comment on what positive outcomes has occurred in their groups from the Pulse survey. Besides one or two meetings to discuss the survey, I have not seen any of the low score areas addressed.
I will be taking it coz I will be s—ing it up to them - just for fun and to screw them up. If you want to too, please do take. But if you want to be honest, just remember it is NOT anonymous as so many here mentioned already. Also (hope you are already doing this) I would suggest not to use your Ford laptop to access thelayoff.com site. You are forewarned!

NO - Not anonymous, and a complete waste of time. The ability of the company to actually do something effective and constructive can be seen in the latest SRD - just a joke of an initiative....
Pulse is just like Agile retrospectives.... a complete waste of time because none of the problems are ever addressed.
I do not participate because it is not anonymous. I dont care if it says that is only published in aggregate.
I knew of a group of guys that got together and agreed to give their management extremely high ratings so that they would not be tasked with improving their own morale. The managers received accolades for their great pulse improvements while the worker bees just chuckled.
I once arrived to a meeting early attended by Frank Davis and other directors. They were chuckling about the pulse survey - to them it was just a box checking exercise.
Honestly working for large companies s—s. No one gives a hoot about anything but their next bonus. Long term thinking does not exist.
Sometimes the pulse scores are discussed in meetings. If the scores are bad enough a team of GSRs may be tasked with interviewing team members in an attempt to resolve the issues. The GSRs will summarize what they learned from their interviews, maybe give a presentation at a future staff meeting and the poor pulse scores will be declared “resolved”.
Take it from a 20-year Ford veteran, PULSE is not anonymous, and all negative responses will be spun away. LL5 objectives, you see.
A few years ago our group was given Ford polo shirts. ;)
