We have close to 40 open positions. Some few new hires but only cashiers, click and pull, and service desk. From 12:30 to 3pm it is a living hell for the very small two or three associates covering all areas on the floor. Only on Saturdays do we have just barely enough help to cover the mid shift hours.
By the time the evening crew comes in your area is completely and utterly destroyed (no help zoning in the morning either for most areas because they are stocking and leave most zoning to evening shift) and you're behind all night long and have to stay at least an hour (often longer) over almost every night (now not only is overtime approved but your forced to stay over or get coached) and they still expect perfection of course because there's no third shift anymore.
The good news is, no more just walking around pointing at this and that and then going out for smoke breaks or hanging in the office all day for the managers like before.
Now all managers but the lead Store manager is pulling freight out most of the day and reworking empty slots and doing resets right after close, or doing click and pull orders.
