Thread regarding Cisco Systems Inc. layoffs

If I am staying, can I negotiate RSU?

I work my tail off and constantly praised by customer. Department has been trying to hire people to help me for over six months. Since Cisco cannot match salary and stock offered by hot cloud companies, no one accepted offer.

Question: At grade 11, is it realistic to approach manager and request salary increase? Basically if I get at least 1,500 shares/year, I could be motivated to stay.

Keep your head down, when it comes to LRs, the highest paid individual contributors get hit first. You could easily replace a g11 with a couple of grade 8s. If you want the higher compensation, go somewhere else.

I am not sure your evidence about this is, but if half what you are saying is true, the situation is bad then. In my area senior level people are making base salary+Equivalent base salary stocks+Bonus. That explains why we keep interviewing people for months but no one accepts it. Wow.

If outside candidates cannot join Cisco due to higher pay being offered by other "hot cloud companies", why don't you join those "hot cloud companies"? You wanna have your cake and eat it too. That aint gonna happen, especially at Cisco.

Only employees in the Good ol' Boys club receive that type of annual RSU... it's time to leave

You will be put on the next LR list if you ask for RSU at GR11.
