If they did not make fake report that eventually removed entire Sun Hardware Storage, would Oracle be better than today? We spent 3 to 5 years and k–led a great project with no real progress. We are not tech company any more. It is just STUPID.

ZFSSA and Pillar were both dinosaurs.
One cannibalized the other to stay alive for a few more years.
You could argue Pillar had a chance to become something but management/leadership was so inept that it never got off the ground.
The Pillar products never went anywhere after ORCL brought them in house. It was hilarious that ZFSSA was a working, deployed product family internally but the hope was Pillar would replace it. A lot of resources were poured in but it stagnated under it's own weight and poor management.

If there was no real progress in that time frame, perhaps it wasn't a great project.
