Thread regarding Lowe's Cos. layoffs

All Store Meeting

Are you going to the all store meeting?

Our manager is planning on 30 people out of nearly 100 at my store.

Unfortunately, I attended. Sad to see all of the old school employees are gone. It was the flattest, most pathetic, low energy excuse of a meeting I have ever seen. Pretty much sums up the state of things, really.

Why would I go? I know you can’t trust what a Lowe’s executive you.

Store Meeting ARE NOT mandatory. they are only strongly suggested. There's a misconception within Lowe's about the store meeting being mandatory. They are not. You can not get in trouble for not attending the meeting. No where in company policy does it state they are mandatory. The whole mandatory thing blew up in our (management) faces a few years ago when an associate protested. We looked into policy and consulted corporate HR and they clearly stated it isn't mandatory nor could we make it mandatory - we could only strongly suggest and request they attend.

As was ours, we were told we would be written up.

Oh well, I'll come to your dumb a$$ meeting and not pay attention!

I'm good. I'm sleeping in. Let Joe and Marv speak to a near empty aisle on their TV machine. Enough is enough.
