its sad that people build up sick days for emergencies , then when a rif happens they get nothing for theis sick days they built up , companies could at least pay them 1/3 of the days they built up ..

Funny thing. You can't really just take sick days...even if sick. If you take more than 3 days within 3 months, your manager could write you up, as it is against company policy to take too many sick days.
That is why you should use them and not come to the office sneezing and coughing to save them.
Well if you think about it makes sense. Those that have been here 20+ years probably have 1000 hours of sick time saved. Assuming you didn’t take maternity/paternity leaves, and no major medical issues. Most of us probably take 3 to 5 days of sick time a year at most.
