Thread regarding Sam's Club layoffs

What does your CM really think of the changes?

Do you ever see or hear your CM admitting that these changes are ridiculous? I know they are forced to put on a happy face for everyone, but I also know they can't keep that up all the time. Spill your stories. I've seen mine breakdown and cry in the office. I felt bad but she treats everyone like garbage so...

I remember when Furner took over. Our CM was excited because they were told they would have more say over their clubs again. That all changed quick when they quickly got rid of the audit team. It's been spiraling down ever since. The CMs never got more say over their clubs. They became slaves like the rest of us. Every last one of us got duped. I can tell mine is almost completely checked out. He tries to be upbeat and positive, but you can tell it's all fake now. Now instead of pushing hard he's more understanding and tells us to do our best. I think it's less than a year before he finds another job. Let's see what fiscal year brings this time. Gonna be more chaos.

Sam Walton was nothing more or less than robber baron. Do not believe for one minute that he cared more about his associates than his money. He cheated and threatened his workers, much as the company does today.

Want an example? Walton paid workers 50 cents an hour in the 60's. President Kennedy passed a law which made the minimum wage $1.15 an hour. Walton's responded with the usual Walmart trickery. Eventually, a federal court ruled. Walton had to pay his workers the accumulated sums he owed them, plus a double-time penalty. What happened? Wal-Mart cut the checks, but Walton told his workers that he would fire anyone who cashed the check.

Do your own homework Do your own research. Don't believe what they tell you in orientation. Don't believe the lies. The man wasn't a hero. He wasn't a god. He was looking out for himself. Always.

I work at Sam's Club, but I will never belong to them. Why do I stay? Because I have over 20 years invested. I'll retire soon. And it will be good riddance to the evils of Walmart, the destroyer of cities.

Doesn't really matter what the CM thinks. CM's are also afraid to lose their job because they are being ridden by MM's who are also fearful for their job, because their RM is likewise on their butte. This company is run by fear and intimidation which is the antithesis of how Sam Walton wanted his company run. He would be appalled.
