Leadership on all levels

Why is it they expect tms to be perfect 180% of the time when their not even 45% of the time?

I'm not Brady. He sounds like a tool. Brady... Gross. Clipboards are not an all day task for sure. Nothing really is until you have to work with people who are supposed to be your teammates but are actively working against you. My point is there are so much more useful things we could do besides the mandatory admin stuff. It's not just clipboards. I was just using that as a metaphor. Kronos scheduling takes nearly an entire shift every TL. I try to split it into 2 half shifts. Sometimes I have to waste my time writing someone up for the 3rd time for not washing their hands or wearing their apron into the bathroom or explaining OTS SOP for the hundredth time to a blank stare. I could accomplish more if I got rid of a quarter of my staff. Of course I'd want to replace them with better tms but I'd be equally fine without them. I'll be in the office for an hour trying to write the schedule and every 3 minutes I get a call. " Do we sell soap?" "What's keynoah?" I'm like, you've worked here for 3 years and you don't know what Quinoa is?!" WTF!. And yes. Clipboards and OTS walks and all the checking behind Tms takes a lot of time when you are also leading the team and trying to accomplish the dozens of tasks with deadlines every week while still being more productive on the floor than all of you r tms. Next step is just getting rid of c-ap Tms faster. Oh I notice you didn't sign the log three times this month. Separated.

Recently I realized I work in a store where 90% of my shifts I work I have the most experience by far. Literally everyone in the store from every department will call me to ask me things because they know I know things. It gets a little tedious when I'm trying to do everything for everyone and I'm constantly stopped to get asked dumb a– questions that should have been covered in training. Do we sell salsa? Where's the avocado's? What's ergomommy? It's pronounced Edamame. I realize why old timers want to leave. Cause the people we hire are dumb as f—.

If you know what you are doing why aren't you leadership? Why would leadership be intimidated by you? They aren't going to make someone step down so you can take over. It's very clear from your attitude why you have been passed over. No leadership wants to promote a dumb a– to be a puppet. We ant to promote people that are team players and make all of our lives easier. Sometimes we need to hire someone with skills that complement our own. For example, I am very detail oriented. I need a partner that will be executing the plans when I need to be doing office stuff. There is so much office stuff and dumb clipboards we need to use now. I could work 4 pallets to everyone else's 1, but I'm stuck printing paper to attach to clipboards that no one ever looks at. We have what 12 or so clipboards on the comm board. There are 2 that are ever used. The OOS list for telling customers when something will be back in stock (1-2 times a week tops) and the merch map. (once every 2-3 weeks). The other 10 are just scenery and waste paper. Sometimes too much info is bad.

Trust me, at Whole Foods leadership does not need to make up reasons for Tms not to like each other. They do that themselves. Yes, good talented Tms often get hated on because they get frustrated by dipshit tms thumbing their a–holes and not washing their hands instead of doing actual work but it isn't the leadership instigating. I shut that sh– down. Sometimes the most productive Tms are also really bad for morale and they are blind to their attitudes. You have to balance. You will have a hard time being promoted if you don't get along with your team even if you are the best and most knowledgeable. I've seen long time talented people get passed over for leadership positions for new tms with zero experience because of relationship issues. Then they end up doing all the work without the pay. I've actually advised one ore two tms to be less productive and focus on relationships because it would help them move up and even if they were to step back a little they'd still be way better than everyone else.

Jeez, that's harsh. Accurate, but harsh! People think standing and straightening shelves is hard. Go be a teacher or nurse or a fireman a construction worker or a lawyer. What job is easier than Whole Foods? If you can't handle Whole Foods you can't handle anything. These are the Tms that are too lazy to take the stairs so they use the elevator making people who actually need to use it have to wait for their fat a–.

You can't do anything 180% of the time. Also, it's spelled "they're". You can tell I'm in leadership can't you?

It's our job to coach tms to be better at their jobs. Sometimes we get frustrated because tms cannot accomplish the simplest tasks in a timely manner.

In my store Market leadership is always present on all shifts. It isn't at all a requirement but it is a good idea to have leaderships eyes on everything.

I've been a lowly tm before. Just know that leadership has c-ap to do that you don't really care to know about and wouldn't want to deal with. Sometimes it looks like we aren't doing anything but we are.

That being said, there is some terrible leadership out there.

WTF is that last post? It sounds like my methed out dyslexic overnighter learned how to type. It sounds like a sentient auto fill texted it. Hopefully there is a huge language barrier?

Now imagine as a leader you need that poster to accomplish a simple task in a decent amount of time. That's what we deal with all day long.

@116cs6kJ-1ddu Why are you worrying about the Market Leadership team closing? If it is not your team stay out of their business. You have no Idea what is going on with that team and you should worry about your own work. Stop being a tattle tale. I bet you work on specialty or whole body team. The teams that get more help and do more standing around talking than working. That is why you have time to stalk other teams and report them. Grow up!

Here in our store the market leadership team never closes.
We already reported it and nothing happened.
Store leadership is clueless.

This is so true. It’s exhausting working here. It’s not worth the stress. That’s why so many people are leaving.
