Thread regarding Sears layoffs

Loss prevention support?

We have seen a huge increase in shoplifting, weirdos and employee theft. We have zero support and no lp so why put us in harms way and protect our assets. One cashier recently had therr purse stolen and our cameras dont work. Whats the deal folks dont you care about us as it seems the word is out that KMart is ripe for the picking. Not cool

All AP cares about is making sure that employees aren't coming in through the wrong doors or using shop your way points. No way will they do anything about non-associates taking thousands of dollars in product out of the doors. Forget about the real losses, it's all about a show of power.

Is there anything left worth stealing at either store? Some 'Pampa' boxes of mac and cheese or some old Kenmore vacuum bags?

When we liquidated, they were pushing cart after cart after cart out the front door. Zero LP, zero support, don't get involved, let it happen, it will happen.

@jbd; The remote monitoring is there to watch YOU and your coworkers. They couldn't give a rat's arse about shoplifters, even if they're pushing a 55" TV right out the door. (In whatever stores still even have any of those.)

I worked at Sears until last year. Our specific store's loss prevention strategy was to have remote monitoring where corporate AP people would watch our store's camera systems. We had no physical AP present in the store and this was the same case for all but the biggest stores (A stores) in our area. I'm pretty sure that was the strategy all across the company for the smaller/lower volume stores. How they planned on preventing theft that way was beyond me since nobody, including the managers, could approach a shoplifter.

We had a ton of shoplifters, by the way. All we could do is watch them walk out with a cart full of merchandise or backpacks and handbags bulging at the seams while they made their exit. There was no use in calling the police because they needed video footage to do their job and nobody at the store had access to the CCTV system to be able to give it to them, and apparently corporate never reached out to them with the footage, so we stopped doing that.

Why care about protecting the assets of Transform when the people running Transform (Eddie, Leena, et. al.) could care less whether stuff walks out the door or not? Do they care about you? No! Do they care about the survival of this company? No! They are too busy getting their golden parachutes ready, loss prevention (or other concerns that a "normal" retailer would care about) isn't even on their radar. The rest of the stores are probably going to close after the holidays, so unfortunately, no amount of "customer service" techniques on shoplifters is going to stop that from happening.

Having no loss prevention

Thieves know Sears and Kmart are in a financial mess. They are taking advantage of the situation. Having know loss prevention in all these stores is a safety concern. If any employee gets hurt during a store robbery take Transformco to court.

They cannot afford APP support any longer. The company must have determined that whatever get’s stolen is less than the salaries and operating costs to have APP in every store. All in all, the company doesn’t care. BUT if you care, use those customer service techniques featured in the APP courses in Segno. They do work and are the industry standard in retail.
