I'm hearing the company is sc-aping the idea of members not having to show cards to get In. True? If so, quit trying to fix things that aren't broke!

I forgot about future pay add-ons. You're right! Future pay add-ons don't have to pay. lol For some future pays or their add-ons, we can't force the registers to take expired membership payments. O, well.
And as to checks....how would you ever know if the person in front of you was the person on the check or the business on the check, not that we have business memberships anymore, still you get the gist. It's not like anyone cares where I work about the person writing the check is the person on the card.
I still crack up when I see teenagers scan and going. After they get to the door, it's pretty hard to prevent the sell. How do you force a underage person to go back to the membership desk and refund all the merchandise? Simple, you don't force someone's child to do anything and you certainly can't detain them.
We should have never stopped showing the card at the entrance. Membership Club is what we are. Also so many none members using someone else's card. Can't up grade or sell credit to them because they are not the member. Also so many company cards out there that everyone uses that are also not members. These cards say to use for the company with a company check only. How many cashiers let these come through their line and never are used with a company check? We have goals every day and we can not meet them due to none members using cards that belong to them. Also the addons for 40 does not prompt for plus and they can shop before 10 with out being prompted. And if the add on has a complimentary card it prompts Future pay and the expired but all you do is hit clear and they continue shopping and never pay. This can go on for years. So where is our membership dollars?
Or is it about the sales? And is that fair to the members that actually pay to shop?
This is why the clubs membership dollars are not where they need to be. New or renewed and new plus upgrades and credit apps will never increase with this happening. Not fair to paying members and the associates being held accountable for not getting credits and upgrades. It's impossible!
Starting September 23 members will be required to show their membership cards to get in.

What's the point of showing a card with no picture, no name, and no way to make sure this card belongs to that person? The only reason Sam did that was to save money on ink and printers.
Does self checkout weedout Plus from Savings members? I don't know, I never work that area. Either way, fifty-five dollars isn't worth early shopping hours. The main selling point of a Plus is free shipping, cash back, and the satisfaction guarantee (not happy, if you're not happy - return it.)
Scan and Goers will be angry. Most don't bring their cards, but then they can show the card pictured on their phone, but there's no name or image on it either.
No way to keep people out who are going the pharmacy. They are free to come and go as they like. Believe me, the pharmacy will ring up the odd item or two. No problem. At least ours will. Also, I know we have teenagers using their parents cards, but I can't ask them for I.D.
If the Powers-that-Be want to tighten the availability of shopping, they need to put images and names back on the cards. That's the only way these memberships works. Maybe the Powers don't really care who shops when. I wouldn't. Cards without pictures or printed names makes the idea of a membership, that only the owner can use, an antiquated notion.
This company likes it's metrics and numbers. When memberships start declining and renewals go into the negatives.
Well think infinity symbol at some point it will change and this is one of those changes that will not be taken lightly by some members.
That's been like that for awhile.. if they do come in the register flags them and they can't shop unless they upgrade
Oh yes, that started earlier this week. If they show a regular card before 10am they are referred to Membership Desk. Even member shows card to get through the door.
