We received the memo last week on saving money through hour cuts, not fill open management shifts and company wide travel band. But the executive team came working through our store @ 8:00 last night “under the radar”! What happened to the so-called travel band!!??

Oh, I thought Macy's has a Travel Band and cheerleaders going to stores to generate sales and morale.
The travel ban is the best thing that the company ever did, saving money and engagement in the districts and stores is soaring. No ridiculous preparing for huge ego festivals, no six knuckleheads who have never been to your store before, don't know you customer, just reiterating the same direction we have already received via conference calls, emails, portal postings, webinars, and Skype sessions. Even with the crazy hours cuts, not having the central and regional teams in the stores has been a real relief - keep it up Jeff, good strategy.
That wasn't just any executive team, that was the CEO himself on his regular trip on personal business to the market as he does every year at this time. Don't worry he just stopped by your store so that he could justify the use of the company jet to cover his trip. Everyone knows the stores are jacked up due to crazy hours cuts, which is why he didn't walk your dock or stockrooms and the visit was so quick. Really what is the purpose of visiting a store an hour before closing other then to justify the travel expenses like jet, fuel, hotel, meals, pilot salary, and so on.
The travel ban is for peons, not c-level executives. Given how our stock price is going, I imagine he might be trying to ensure he uses all of the perks while he still can.
