I would troll the union on this layoff site because they deserve it.

Oh wait, I already do that and I am already retired.

I don’t think I’ll live that long. I was supposed to be gone ten years ago so I’m pretty lost with what to do now least of all if I ever retire. My parents are 80 and still work full time because everyone they know who retires doesn’t make it a year.

I had open heart surgery. Got to recuperate in peace. I'm walking a couple of miles a day. Diabetes is gone. Execema and posorias is gone. Blood pressure is normal. A stress free life. Grandson and I go hiking. Kick the soccer ball. I even spend time with my young bride.

Life post Verizon is simple wonderful.

Whatever i want, whenever I want
And just some advice, you have all but 1 life. If your family is taken care of, and you make memories, that is great. We all have regrets, dont get to a age when you are too beaten down, too old, and have manageable stress that's really not too big a deal make more. Use the quality of life that's left to make you own memories and smiles and laughs. Worse thing to reflect on is looking back in a position of poor health, or aches and pains getting in way saying " I wish I would have" and " I wish I did this". For yourself, family, friends

With my 6 weeks paid vacation I already travel the world. Will do so even more in retirement.

Just waiting for this joke of a company to eliminate my position or relocate it to that Basking Ridge toilet and give me my golden parachute so I can retire.

Health, Music, woodworking, renovation, painting, photography, landscaping, some travel, volunteer, more music, dogs, help out my wife’s business, all of it attempted under the category of Meditation.
A nightly bowl of hakanuki, fire in the winter, and hammocks in the summer. I’ll figure out more from there.
Never to mention the V word again.
Not that I’ve thought about it.

Fishing, hunting, clamming, crabbing, metal detecting, gardening, traveling, yard sales/auctions, dining out, woodworking in the garage, playing cards and pinball in the man cave, smoking/grilling meats, shooting the bow more, and calling my coworkers who are still working on a snowy day and telling them I’ll clean off the cars when I feel like it.

that's a good question. my wife keeps telling me how bored I will be since even on weekends im always trying to find something to do. we will be traveling a lot but that only accounts for a few weeks a year. might end up working a part time job eventually just to k–l some time. maybe do some volunteer work.
