Relocating Headquarters

Does anyone have insight if UP is relocating headquarters? It's been a rumor for a long time and Vena said "Omaha or wherever headquarters is" on the town hall. I heard they also didn't renew their lease at HDC.

@1yjk: UP will be a toxic cesspool regardless of where they put their headquarters.

It seems unlikely that UP will be moving their headquarters from UPC anytime in the near future, at least physically. Designating a state with a favorable corporate tax regime as their official headquarters while keeping their base in Omaha seems more plausible than a full-on relocation. UP has too many assets concentrated in Omaha to just pick up and move. If you don't see them selling off or leasing major local assets it probably means that no major move is being planned.

Somewhere in Houston Tx the zip code is 77042. Its a 20 story building, I do not know much except they have pulled permits and an Union Pacific Rep was at a city council meeting. That's all I know

What would be the point in moving it to spring Texas? I have no info either way. Personally I think they stay in Omaha because they got too many executives that grew up there and have never left town their entire life. Put it on the Uranus for all I care.

UP owns the building in which HDC resides. It’s not leased.
