Thread regarding Ford layoffs

Things are bad and only going to get way worse

You think what you are reading is bad, it is only getting started. Things are falling apart and the execs are flailing. They have no idea what they are doing other than drinking Jim's kool-aid. Then let's not forget we have throngs of kids walking the halls now playing on their phones and sitting around doing nothing as they are totally clueless. Anyone with experience is just sitting back watching the show and letting it all crumble. The people with experience are of the opinion to let it burn. Why bother since Hackett hates anyone over the age of 25. Let's see the kids fix it...or perhaps some of the "special teams" like Team Edison that have caused much of the mess you are seeing.

As long as the family controls ford they will be lost in the mobility wilderness.

I have travelled a couple of times since the SRD to other Ford PD centres. You are right on the money - we are seeing clueless new kids entering the arena that either don’t drive cars, ride bicycles, after climate change etc. and yet they want to design cars. They literally have no clue at all, and yes, the experience team members are just watching to see it crumble - it’s either because the young ones don’t give a sh– and rely on the experienced or the experience are just sick of Hackett not giving a sh– and recognising them. Either way, I can’t see us turning anything around until he is walked out and replaced.

The CEO will get replaced it's only a matter of time, however I think all the oems are trying to find out what's next in automotive. The run on trucks and SUV's will eventually end with the next generation. People cannot continue to buy or lease such expensive vehicles, basically it's a fad and will end.

I’m hearing the same thing from numerous sources. When I started with Ford 19 years ago one of the things I loved about the culture was that no one spoke badly about their job or the company. I lived through some dark times during those 19 years but no one complained. Even during the dark days of the “Great Recession” I didn’t hear people complain about how leadership was managing the “crisis”. Now you’re hard pressed to find someone who is complaining. It’s easy to understand why. During recent years the company has been fleecing experienced workers through PRP and most recently SRD. Remaining people with experience are overworked and all the new kids are overwhelmed. Now we’re seeing launch and quality issues along with declining sales. The person who posted the start of this thread is probably more concerned than arrogant.

@11RFV just based on what is actually going on. Not conjecture. The execs are desperately calling to find any type of cost saves to try to box numbers.Things are going up on the chopping block. Simmering new quality and launch problems. Corners have been seriously cut and cannot be contained. Anyone with a moment of experience sees it on a daily basis. The bubbling despiration is clear as day.

How long do you think Ford will be in business. I ask since you seem to be the smartest guy in the universe.
