Thread regarding Bank of New York Mellon Corp. layoffs

Job Interview EMEA

I recently was offered a job in Ireland. This was my first job out of college. Accepted the job and joined. Was told my salary was competitive. Now realised that my salary is 53% less than what my friend started on in competitor bank in same location (he is also out of college). The job is the same and we have same qualification. Interviewing for that company next week. Either way Im out of this place.

You would be better to stay a year and get experience then move to an even higher salary.

Attracting and retaining top talent as always I see.
Would some WOW points, and a new Starbucks Cafe change your mind?

Dublin is very toxic for a while now. Problem is that there is nobody in control. Senior management are being laughed at by new starters who seem to think its a version of Mrs Browns Boys. Lets face it maagement in ireland are pretty shocking. I moved from another company and its crazy here. Hope to hand in notice in few weeks once contract elsewhere finalised.

Dublin especially Riverside has to be the most hostile environment imaginable. Bullying is prevalent.

I got laid off this year and got a job in an Irish bar in the Bronx. I took a 75% pay cut but enjoy the work far more.
