US Bank repurposed the assistant branch manager role because they no longer have operational, non customer facing duties. If your friends were just hired/promoted they still have their job with a different title. No one was walked out the door-they were given a different FULL TIME position. Part time is under 30 hours and while they got rid of 40 hour tellers they were changed to 38 hours.

I am sure that a lot of people did lose their jobs. I sympathize with them. I worked at US Bank in Operations for 14 years. I left that company and retired and moved across the country. They were anything but supportive about helping people get another job within the company. I had 26 years' experience working in the banking industry, but kept getting emails from HR stating that I was unqualified for any new positions for which I applied. Don't trust any of them for one second. They are liars.

My BAM and I (TC) were let go.. we have no other option but to reapply and if they choose to pay under a percentage of what we were getting paid and we decline, we loose our severance! EVERY BAM and TC was let go.. Get your facts straight you id–t!!’ This company has gone to garbage! No care for their employees..
The bam position got eliminated and they want to sound fair by saying you can reapply, but the truth of the matter is.... they are cleaning house! They are not going to wipe this entire position out just to “rehire the same ppl doing the same job”’ with a different title and allow us to keep the same pay. They say it’s a title change and not considered NEW HIRING then why put us through the new hires process-application submission, interviews, background and credit check? This sound like a new hire to me! This is how you treat your employees Usbank?
I was a BAM and by sheer luck of timing happened to transfer to a different internal position a month ago. The writing was definitely on the wall that something was happening with the BAM position. Seeing how the branches weren’t given the staffing and ability to hire they needed is rather disheartening. Especially being internal now and seeing they don’t think twice about filling open positions. The way branches do banking may be changing, but this is definitely not the way to adapt. The branch manager I had was already worked to the bone - I can’t even imagine how this is going to be manageable unless they drastically shift the branches hours

Ummm not true at all ! The branch I am working at the bam was given 2 options severance or apply for this new position that is more like a banker role it is not a lateral move and the new poaition even though we just lost a teller and she is a 40 hour employee they are only replacing her with a 28 hour new role position SO in order to keep her job she has to apply at another branch to keep 40 hours and receiving benefits and hope someone else that this is happening to doesnt want to continue to be employed! As far as them getting rid of this position bc it isnt customer facibg is ALSO bs bc my bam is on the teller line more than the bankers ! She wants our branch and bankers to be sucessful and have time to do so so with that being said she takes on alot of the branches customers as well as run the branch while the bm is out like they are supposed to getting new business on top of doing her daily tasks! I guarentee this is going to absolutely back fire on them ! Maybe they should actually step foot inside a branch and see what exactly these positions do before depleting them :)

That is not true. All assistant managers and teller coordinators were laid off. They were given till December 20th to apply for new roles. I wa recently hired as a Branch assistant manager and they laid me off. Given the December 20th deadline or apply for the new position. Not all full time tellers were laid off but alot were. They will eventually layoff all full time tellers as soon as they fulfill the new postions.
What a shame total lies and I had so much faith in a company I work for Most Ethical Company to work for my a– who are they asking to get that title
I’ve been with the company for 11+ years. The fact that they say assistant managers are operational is such a joke. All I do all day he sells a deal with customers face-to-face. We were not offered a replacement job we were told that we could reapply for a new job position that was being Created. The new job is essentially a baker job with management duties and point. most likely at a reduced salary. We are applying for jobs that we know nothing about That have no structure, no specific guidelines around expectations and point expectations. The point is it’s all about $$$$$.
This is America, love it or leave it!
CAC or universal branches have been affected not every single branch people were laid off just the majority of them if you were some of the lucky ones keep your eyes wide open because the doors are about to slam in your face
What about most of the teller staff? It appears that they’re trying their hardest to hide how many tellers have been let go and how they have no plans on replacing them.You mentioned non-customer Inner action rolls are you really suggesting that many of the people that were let go aren’t normal people that worked in the regular staffing at the branches .
This is absolute BS and how anyone can make this statement with a straight face is beyond my comprehension. Just call it what it is and knock off the sugar coating. My concern if I were still working there would be is there an acquisition in the future and if so how does it effect me. From what I know this initial drop of the hatchet hit mostly those with seniority at the bank, how convenient.

Don't play smartkid and try to justify a cost reduction maneuver that impacts the prosperity of a working family while other, more privileged and anchored managers that sit in the big boys table at HQ get the big bonuses and enjoy this game like they play Monopoly. Cecere and his gangsters are ripping off the soul and equality this company used to have.
That is false not everyone was offered a job.. they had to reapply and fight for the other jobs with the company .
