Seems Dell is not interested in keeping seasoned professionals, so after the age of 50. rather hire INEXPERIENCED Millennial's who think they are it, they are nothing but a BUNCH of Bullies

It’s a sad fact in IT and corporation as a whole that once you hit the 50 year mark you’re a target for layoffs (mainly salary related). After a wave of layoffs, I had to retire from another company at 63 and couldn’t get another job (interviews became more difficult, couldn’t handle timed coding tests, and there were key technologies I didn’t know that popped up after 3 year period). I spent 38 years in IT and only survived that long because of going back to school at night to advance my skills several time and moving several times.
In the end I didn’t bother because I was only going to work another 5 years (only made it for 3 years).
Over 20 years of service + excellent performance reviews + only 6 years until retirement age = Position being eliminated to cut costs

Dell is run by kiss a– managers for the most part, spreadsheet jockies who lie up and the lies continue to the top. Age discrimination is real, ask the 2000 of us who are now receiving good size payouts for the pure age -based RIF in 2013 that Dell was blatant about age discrimination but as usual it's huge undeserved ego thought they could pull it off and get away with it... Dell doesn't need senior sales people to sell low tech laptops and servers they are a pure commodity in today's market.
Refreshing the workforce, remove dead wood, employ younger and cut the wage bill.

confirmed. Im in my mid 50's and training kids younger than I've been in the industry. They retained me after endured 3 years on contract without decent benefits. Once I moved toward the door, they made a move.
They are decent abt learning new technology but I don't expect to advance bc I don't golf and Im introverted so I shd be thankful Im still around. hahahh
"sole destroying", man, I am sorry they had to bring your shoe into this. Talk to Legal if you have been treated unfairly; enroll in some remedial written communication in the interim. Because if you claim that "its illegal" they rightfully thought you were a mo–n. Using more caps might change a few minds.
I'm in my 50's and not seeing this at all. In fact, there are a number of us in our 50's and we all got raises this year.
Is True, if you are over 50 you end without choices, door start closing. Mo promotions, no salary increases. Your only option is to leave. People in the 20's are very well welcome and promoted, even if they do not know what they are doing and a mentor is assigned
Is sad, but is like this everywhere. Nobody wants to hire an older person.
