Thread regarding Union Pacific Corp. layoffs

Weve only just begun

Dont think for one minute your job is safe, chances are its not. PSR has only skimmed the top of the surface, expect another 1200 to be gone by Christmas. Make no mistake PSR is an Ocean and what you know about it is a drop of rain. Word of advice is to start downsizing your lifestyle, start looking for another career, yes its a tough pill to swallow but it will be your only option alot sooner than you think. You can also rest assured your low level mangers and supervisors are being bamboozled by Omaha. They have no idea whats really happening and are system wide using some b.s production chart that they have been fooled with themselves. Ill make a million dollar bet the tcs union will be pushed out by Christmas. They know it, and now you do too.

Fritz will do what he does best. He'll place blame on something that he says is out of his control. Everything happening with the UP is due to the poor management team. That's not too hard to see that. The BNSF carloadings are much higher than the UP. Yes the BNSF is thriving because the UP is failing.

UP carloadings are 154k for week 44, less than they were in 2009 during the worst recession since the great depression, and they are low because UP is turning business away.

BNSF carloadings for week 44, are over 200k, because the BN is taking all the business UP is too premium for.

So basically UP is hurting their employees and slashing thousands of jobs, not out of necessity, but choice.

I agree, no ones job is safe, UP has officially became a trash company to work for, without a future.

Wait until they get one man crew, and they outsource all their switching operations to scab operators, they actually own, but call a subsidiary.

They have their dream FRA chief, supreme court, and president, all anti union, labor hating, pieces of human trash.

There will be blood, and more blood, until there is no one else to cut.

When we started this carloadings were 175000 now its 155000. So now we are going to cut extra to compensate for the drop in carloadings.

Nobody at UP thinks their job is safe and if they do chances are they don’t actually work at UP anymore but have been committed to the looney home and are in a padded room playing choo choo. I heard this unfortunately happened to several regional AVPs after their jobs were cut and nobody outside UP would give them an executive position.

Make a million dollar bet claiming management knows, guaranteeing everyone else that reads this is aware of it too, and don't even know yourself? Interesting!

OK this is based on what factual proof? I'm going with you don't know much. You mentioned about the low level managers and supervisors being bamboozled. The company has been doing what to EVERYONE exactly? The only ones that know what's happening or is going to happen is Omaha. There's less collateral damage that way. Try having some proof before you post BS.
