Over 35 years and got a 2week layoff notice.Found out that the hours listed in Disability Reserve are not being paid out, we lose those. Apparently when the previous mergers occurred the sick hour balances were frozen, available for catastrophic illness only. It was slipped into the employee handbook that DR hours aren't paid when employment terms we don't get a notice about that change.
Does anyone know how many people were laid off in the past 90 days?

Agree with no recourse in MN. Our small onshore team keeps getting hit. Too much work even before these latest layoffs. Outsourced lots to India but they call in sick all the time because too much work piled on them. Who's steering this ship? Some IT guys who've been executives since the 60s and don't know the first thing about tech OR work and guessing at new mgmt styles. That's why theres 50 layers of VPs on top of 30 layers of directors on top of the manager level and below that the 1 worker that's supporting them.
Minnesota IT here, or was until yesterday. Record Profits, too much work for the staff that was there, and still all these layoffs. Does not make sense.

The oil companies here in texas were treating their employees like UHC is treating theirs and everyone lawyered up, a complaint was filed with the attorney general . UHC does not do anytjing by the book or rules , reg. They have been misclassfying salaried employees for years. If all of you get one attorney or a law firm , start a go fund me page and everyone join. They will find that UHC did something improper.
Someone needs to call the Minneapolis Star. I guarantee that UHG doesn't want the publicity. The public should know how the company treats its employees
Can confirm it is not solely based on seniority..or work performance......have worked for UHC/Optum for approx 1yr and was let go.....stay strong everyone. Believe in your skills.
Where can you confirm the number of layoffs? And can we contact the media. Seems like they are targeting older workers with higher salaries. Class action suit???
It is just awful seems like they went after long time employees!! Heard nursing jobs are going offshore also. That should be fun for the doctors.

Has anyone heard about ICMs being laid off soon? I know they moved a lot of DCMs to a new review team and only left one DCM for the whole state. We have noticed a huge drop in our DSNP census.
Sad, not laid off myself but had to lay someone off a few weeks ago. Felt sick to my stomach.
Now my boss is micromanaging me like never before since I’m the most suitable replacement for them. Awful atmosphere, everyone for themselves. Productivity has declined, no decisions or capital to work with.

A few of the local DSNP clinicians got laid off, as well some directors and other higher ups. This is after a hiring freeze was enacted.

CAN anyone collaboratively reach out to the Bernie Sanders campaign and let them know that after he said UHC we are coming for u, well now UHC is getting themselves out of dodge. Outsourcing themselves so they arent got. See if he puts his money where his mouth is.
I feel bad for the people that got laid off but they missed me when they swung the ax today, well at least for now. I've been downsized and outsourced many times in my life, and I've always survived OK.
