I was laid off in 2017. I was notified on a Tuesday. My last day was 30 days later.
No one is ever safe...
Yes there was another round in marketing, impacting long term employees that had survived until now. But fell under the exact same cost cutting microscope. Not big. All of them blindsided thinking they were safe now.
updates?
Did the layoff notices go out today as somebody said they would?
If we cut the ELT our stock would go up 50 points.
Nov 5 2018 was huge CX cut.. that was a Monday
See, they are thinking about our mental health!
BTW, they give you 45 days now, not 30.
General rule is the last Tues or Wed of the month. Reason is that guarantees the last day of employment is close to the end of the month so they don't have to pay for an extra month of COBRA.
A while back someone said Cisco did a study and found that Tues was the best - least likely to cause an incident and unlikely to result in self harm. Also, it got the team focused to cope with the changes so the following week was productive.
Pure hearsay though.
CX Platforms?
Fake news, it’s never on a Monday.
Notices go out Sept 30th for this round.
UK starts tomorrow is what the consultation notes said. I had a 1:1 scheduled earlier today for tomorrow. Hoping I get paid out as I was just about to jump anyway!
