Thread regarding Sam's Club layoffs

How many are looking for a new job?

I'm wondering if the number of people looking for another job outside of Sam's Club is increasing or decreasing.

@1gao those people were the ones who took just anything offered to them. Probably went to another retail store which is absurd. I admit that I did it once and learned my lesson. I took a job that I thought I would like way more. Better benefits and everything. I was hugely mistaken. I was there a few months and went straight back to Sam's. I was there a few more years. After a while I started looking again, but made sure I went somewhere that I knew was better. Now I'm so happy. No way would I ever go back to Sam's. Especially with the changes they've made now. I am worth so much more than being a number to the Walton's.

Many who left have returned, and several who tried to return and were turned down. Ohio here.

After waiting and stressing over my job being cut for well over a year I took the severance and so glad I did. Took a couple months to find a job I wanted but now I have a job I enjoy. I'm off on weekends. After well over 20 years at Sam's I put that severance in the bank. It's scary to leave a job after so long but there is life after Sam's club

10 years with the company, was in management for 3 years, I left about 2 months ago, best decision I could ever make for myself, I feel like I got my life back, found a new job and majority of my stress has gone away, don’t have to worry if my job was on the line each year, no more phone calls, emails, having the market manager come in and just be negative all the time. For the first time, I’m actually happy with my life again.

Left 2 months ago. 21 cumulative years between Sam's and Walmart. Don't miss the toxic work environment at all. Life is good again.

Get out people. Life is too short to waste it on a company that will shyte on you at their earliest convenience.

@byd don't give up! It will happen! Also make sure you are calling them to check on your resume, or even stop by. I had to put in a lot of looking, but it pays off. It's hard to not get discouraged, but you will be so happy when it pays off.

I just left a month ago. It's amazing how good it feels. I'm not being micromanaged, I have a lot more time with my family, I'm around professional people who don't point blame at everyone but themselves. There's such a difference! There's a HUGE weight that has been lifted off my shoulders. I'm sure I'll see some things I don't like, but bring it on. If I put up with so much at Sam's then I can put up with a little bit at my new job. Please people, know your worth and find something better! I guarantee you it's out there!

Left in 2018, found better job way better pay, and way better work-life balance. If people know their worth then it will be easier to leave Sam’s. I was also in management too, so the grass is greener on the other side but it all depends on what you want.

Decreasing. There are far fewer long term associates still working for this horrible company than there once were. Since there are currently fewer of them still working for Sam's, then there are fewer of them looking to leave for another job.

Simple logic question.
