Thread regarding Cisco Systems Inc. layoffs

Is Cisco a better company today than it was a year ago?

Is there anybody here who can identify anything positive to come out of all the changes that have been implemented here at Cisco in the past year?

Anything that you could point to and say, yep-that's-it, this is much better and it's made us a better organization than we were before?

"Meanwhile, a majority of the employee base is a retirement community with people working less than 20 hours a week waiting for their time to come."

I hate to say it but this so true. But why are we in this state ? A lot of these were previously talented and over performing people.

We are near all time stock market high and CSCO is languishing, so years of shareholders focused strategy with buybacks and dividends has gotten us what exactly?

Meanwhile, a majority of the employee base is a retirement community with people working less than 20 hours a week waiting for their time to come.

This place is a joke. I'm one of the thousands of people who have known this for a long time, but want to pretend like I'm "in on the joke". Turns out the joke is on people like me. The longer we stay here, the less marketable we are elsewhere.

"Tugboat"? Cisco?

More like a plastic pool float.

Performance slowing down year to year , if you will get better or same package from other companies, and the company still in good shape, just go with it, except if you still like with the current company .

If you feel a strong urge to innivate, just take a cold shower. In time, the urge will pass.

Got several raises and RSU's after people got laid off. That was sad. I am only a grade 11. Cisco could do a better job of moving good people to places that are needed instead of a layoff and re apply. That just keeps people in a constant mode of looking.

Nope...it’s a t–d covered in glitter. The trouble is they have to keep acquiring or creating more glitter to cover up the inadequacies of senior management’s failure to invest in building a truly internally innovative company over the previous decade

They’re really good in advertising their humane efforts, colorful branding, and making it seem like everyone is fully engaged. Cisco has done an amazing job making a legacy company look vibrant. Pull away the items above, it’s a tugboat; powerful but not-s-xy and lacking innovation. The whole dna cat9k AI was a marketing ploy and everyone outside of Cisco ate it.
