Thread regarding Sam's Club layoffs

Show Your Card/Don't Show YOUR CARD/OOPS SHOW YOU CARD PLEASE

I never understood when they passed the new "Members Do Not Have To Their Cards" at the door. So for months now our members have not had to show their membership cards when entering the store. Now the powers above have reversed that decision and members must show their cards. So comical, they even have a sign posted at the entrance door on how a member can show their cards:

  1. Show regular Membership card
  2. Show card via online app on your phone
  3. Show you Sam's credit card

Really? How stupid does corporate think people are? The people at the top better wise up and realize that our members are not happy with the changes.

We had a issue with a member the other day at my store, He called corporate he claims and told them how he has been shopping at sams for about 3 years now and they supposedly told him he shouldn't have to show his card, which makes no sense because the c.o.s at my club always tell the door greeters now to make sure all members show their cards. Also my club is 1 of the few starting with the new hours which is also getting alot of plus members saying they are going to drop because now we won't open until 9am and regular members are allowed in at 10 still. Don't see this working out to well.

They haven’t had to show their card for almost 2 years now... but now they want to see the cards at the door? Really what is the point in showing your card at the door? And then stopping anyone that wants to just look? Members aren’t happy. If “they” could just decide on one thing and just let it run, it would make life in the club easier for the associate and the member. But everyone is throwing spaghetti at the wall. So everyone gets to run with a change idea at home office. Good luck, when everyone posts their hands in the pot, no one wins.

So which group:

  • people groups- justification of having a position at the door?
  • Membership group decided this was easier to stop people from shopping before 10 am since cashiers won’t ask for upgrades?
  • Ap group thinks this will deter thieves?
  • New guy trying to make is mark?

Alot of our members figured it out. Why stand in line at the entrance to get in when you can just budge your way in through the exit door and not show your card.

My favorite is the members who show their Costco cards.

If you've ever watched the show "The Office" you know how decisions are made in Bentonville.
