Thread regarding Sam's Club layoffs

New Position

Announcement coming late October.

Supervisor Lead

Hourly Position

Pay unknown

Start date unknown

Will manage schedules for Merchandising leads, Meat lead, Bakery Lead, Produce Lead, Prepared Food Lead, TBC Lead. (Member Leads and Accounting are not mentioned) Will over see and work with leads on improving sells and driving offense and defense items in Fresh. Leads will be trained and expected to learn and know their sales. This will include merchandising leads. It was found that too many leads, managers, and employees were approved for vacation at the same time due to lack of communication between managers. (Especially in late June and all of July.) This will help resolve the issue as all vacation request for leads will be approved by 1 person. No 2 leads in fresh can be on vacation at the same time and same with Merchandising. Also no Manager and lead over the same area can be off at the same time if that period exceeds 2 days. Employee vacations will be approved by the leads but it is unknown right now what restrictions may apply.

Just sales & managing Leads schedules? Surely there is more responsibilities than this :/

Do you know if more pay raises are going out next month & if what managers are being cut?
Are any more new leadership positions coming soon?

Sounds like they're just running on a hamster wheel chasing their own tails.

Great idea, this will definitely work. This way we make it fair for everyone, instead of many of them making their schedule to their benefit.

An hourly deciding another hourly's hours?

Here is how time off works.

  1. Submit a request.
  2. Manager denies request.
  3. Ask your lead why your request got denied and get told to speak with manager.
  4. Lead lets manager know that you have question about your denied request. Manager says no more time off for that associate and they need everyone that week.
  5. You speak with manager and resubmit your request and get approved. Manager says nothing.

I do not see them creating a position for this it would make no sense especially if it is hourly one of the existing leads or managers could be given the responsibility of monitoring lead schedules and its up to the manager over each area to make sure there lead can can look up sales absolutely no reason for a new position to do these few things
