Too much politics in vz india

Guys this is the only place I feel safe confessing sadly somehow. My manager is not giving me enough opportunities to grow and Is asking me to do menial jobs like fix build issues etc. I joined 3 years back but the manager and his cabals are making my life a living hell. So much politics. Tech lead got promotion and went to onshore. This is not correct.

Amazing that a post telling you to take control of your own career is down voted. So you just want to whine instead. 👍

If you feel undervalued then leave. I'm not saying that to be a jerk, but some places reward and promote bad people who are the just the right kind of awful as the rest of management. It's a corporate culture problem that won't go away, and if your boss is replaced then they'll be replaced with somebody who's just as bad.

You've built experience and skills, so take them elsewhere and leave bad management behind. There's a reason why freshers pop into VZ for 6-18 months as their first real job and then move on. It looks good on a resume, but it's a stepping stone not a career. You got what you came for, now move on to somewhere you'll be happy and can grow.

How is being asked to do menial jobs making your life a living hell? I get that you feel you are not being given growth opportunities. Then make your own! If your group has nothing special going on, seek out opportunities to work in different areas. Talk to other managers. As far as your tech lead, maybe just maybe, they earned that promotion?

It seems you feel that the tasks you are given are a reflection of who your manager thinks you are, and you think menial jobs are below you.
Is this true?

What you feel, and what you think?

The solution that comes to mind is to ask directly for a special project, and if the answer you receive supports what you think and feel, go to Human Resources and raise the flag of discrimination.
If the answer is factually driven, then you have specific points to work on to try again.
But a question in return: Have you applied for other roles?
3 years is actually a very short period of time. Are your expectations out of line?

If you think there is no growth then change to another employer. There is always a big queue for onsite, why not you invest on doing MS or if you are not satisfied change city, job or team.
