IBM certifies a much-needed 140 data scientists for AI development

Queen Ginni beknighted some "New Collar" data scientists!
Guess a B.S./M.S./doctorate degree is clearly no longer needed to have "scientist" in your job title.

Is IBM going after collar jobs because they can’t compete with the big boys I hate to say it, but I think yes

I guess I might be a candidate. I have 17 AI patents, dozens of academic citations, authored multiple Redbooks on AI+analytics and 33 years experience with at least 10 focused on AI research. All of this at IBM.

IBM pushed me out 3 years ago because of my age. I'm not applying because my current employer pays me almost 2X more and supports everything I do.

My AI tells me IBM is not going get anyone as good as me. I could not be happier.

Why not just put Ginni through the bootcamp. She could also pick up some McScience badges for her LinkedIn account.

Maybe we should hire some 20 year olds without degrees, put them through a 6 week CEO Bootcamp, and then select Gini's replacement from there. Would probably do a better job.

We had a few “data scientists” in service a few years ago. All they did was programming on SAS . Just another big word
Like “On Demand “.
