Thread regarding UnitedHealth Group Inc. layoffs

Any indication what office got hit the hardest?

It’s obvious this is going down in multiple offices and in different locations, so I imagine it’s hard to tell. I would appreciate if people posted numbers of people that got laid off at their location. In that way, maybe we could paint a more clear picture of what workers are being let go the most in this wave.

+1 to the Pittsburgh office being full of lies. They do not tell you anything until the DAY it happens. ESPECIALLY lay offs. DO NOT apply. Stay FAR away from United Healthcare!!!

Atlanta just laid off a ton of ISNP, DSNP, and Managers. They have lied and lied and lied to staff. Karma is sweet. Those left should be shaken in their shoes. Let me know if you need a name from the unemployment office...............

I am an RN I recently switched from E&I prior auth and now doing M&R expedited appeals telecommute. The first 4 weeks of training were great but now I’m supposed to be trained by a senior nurse and I’ve talked to her over webex for maybe an hour in 4 days. I’m sitting here on a Saturday and haven’t heard from 1 person. I’m going to forget everything I learned. I can only do learnsource and re-review the training stuff so much. I’m getting frustrated. I’m wondering if our department is going to be sent to India or the Philippines? On the hub today the open enrollment site is down and so is HR direct.

The WARN act is so outdated it doesn't address WAH employees, and they take advantage of that. Make it known - the congresswoman in MN is trying to reform, it's on one of these threads somewhere. Long story short, if you're WAH and your mail code is "9/10-20" you aren't tied to an office, you aren't included in WARN. They know this, there is no integrity. Place is a sham. Take your talent elsewhere. Preferably where people will pay you for your knowledge on UHC's failures cough regulatory, compliance, HIPPA. They don't care about you, so why care about them? Regulatory/compliance.. speak up on social media (after your official last day of course, so you can't be fired and lose your severance) and your representatives in government. Talk about how Optum uses non CMS guidelines to unduly withhold payment without their unjustified review. Talk about how providers aren't made aware of Optum's reimbursement guidelines and wait Months for payment on a legitimate claim. SPEAK UP! I'm in New York and plan on speaking directly to CSEA regarding Empire plan's administrators later this month.

Rumor has it 10% across the board. That is massive for a company with 200k+ employees. I'm disgusted that they are doing this in waves across multiple cities so that the WARN Act doesn't kick in. Someone needs to tip off the media...

In Phoenix around a dozen people were laid off. Possibly more as we have multiple buildings in the city.

Because it is across the company it stays out of the media as well. They have laid off a few thousand people since June 1st that I am aware of. The group I was on there were over 250 and most had been with the company over 19byears and were all over 40. It seems so strange how they preach the culture and yet treat employees with no warning to plan ahead for a job loss. Is that integrity?
